Looking to get your foot into the healthcare sector? We can provide you with the necessary knowledge to help you develop your skills and be one step closer to your goal. You will finish this programme with a Level 2 Certificate in Health and Wellbeing, along with the beginning skills to understand patients in a holistic perspective. Completing this programme also allows you to go onto higher education related in Healthcare, along with being eligible for the workplace with pay starting at $21.50.
What you can learn
New Zealand Healthcare Environment
Gain introductory knowledge of the NZ healthcare sector and the roles and responsibilities that you may be required to undertake. You will also cover strategies for communicating with people with communication disabilities.
Healthcare Work Experience
Apply and develop the skills and knowledge they have acquired in a supervised workplace setting.
Working in Healthcare
Learn aspects of supporting people in a health or well-being environment, including risk and changes, the part that culture plays and working with individual plans for clients. You will also learn a mix of theory and practical elements.

- Recommended minimum of Step 4 Literacy and Step 5 Numeracy on the Adult Learning Progressions or equivalent
- An interview and a short statement of intent on why the learner wishes to pursue a Healthcare qualification.
