Health and Wellbeing

NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing
(Advanced Care and Support) (Level 4)

Duration: 1 academic year
Campus: New Lynn, Manukau, hamilton
Credits: 120 credits
  • Open entry with interview
  • Preference will be given to students with qualifications in Information Technology Level 3/4 and above, and/or NCEA level 2/3 OR overseas high school certificate
English Requirements
  • IELTS Academic score of 5.5 with no band less than 5.0 or other NZQA approved criteria

This programme requires students to have access to a laptop/desktop that can connect to the internet with a web browser and a required minimum screen size of 10 inches. For device specifications, please talk to your Course Advisor.

About the Programme
Wondering about the next steps to take in your healthcare studies? Specialize in aged care with this flexible learning programme.

This Level 4 New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing, with strands in advanced care and support, provides people who have experience in a health or wellbeing environment with the skills, knowledge and attributes required to provide advanced person-centred support to those with complex needs. This also enables them to take a leadership role in the healthcare workplace, particularly in the aged care field.

This programme is an ideal pathway to work in the following workplaces:

  • In-home services
  • Dementia units
  • Aged residential care
  • Hospitals

Completing this programme also allows you to work with a minimum pay of $28.25 an hour according to the New Zealand Government's pay parity agreement (starting from 1 July 2022).

Note: The geographical range for acceptance into this programme will take place in the Auckland and Greater Waikato area to ensure that NZSE College can manage a suitable 200 hour work placement which is a compulsory requirement for this programme.
