NZ Certificate Health and Wellbeing
(Advanced Care and Support) (Level 4)

Duration: 1 academic year

Credits: 120 credits
  • Open entry with interview
  • Preference will be given to students with qualifications in Information Technology Level 3/4 and above, and/or NCEA level 2/3 OR overseas high school certificate
English Requirements
  • IELTS Academic score of 5.5 with no band less than 5.0 or other NZQA approved criteria

This programme requires students to have access to a laptop/desktop that can connect to the internet with a web browser and a required minimum screen size of 10 inches. For device specifications, please talk to your Course Advisor.

The aim of this programme is to provide people who have experience in a health or wellbeing environment with the skills, knowledge and attributes required to provide advanced person-centred support to those with complex needs, and to their family/whanau, and to take a leadership role in the healthcare workplace, particularly in the aged care field. The learning gained within this programme is transferred into work practice, with a supervised work placement in a New Zealand healthcare organisation.

This programme will also prepare you for further studies in the Healthcare and aged care sector or prepare you for the workplace with *pay parity starting at $27.00 per hour (starting from 1 July 2021).

Note: The geographical range for acceptance into this programme will take place in the Auckland and Greater Waikato area to ensure that NZSE College can manage a suitable 200 hour work placement which is a compulsory requirement for this programme.

Study selected Health and Wellbeing programmes for FREE under the Targeted Training and Apprentices Fund (TTAF) (NZ Domestic students only). The TTAF will cover study fees from 1 July 2020 until 31 December 2022.
