  • Preference will be given to students with qualifications in Information Technology Level 3/4 and above, and/or NCEA level 2/3 OR overseas high school certificate
English Requirements
  • IELTS Academic score of 5.5 with no band less than 5.0 or other NZQA approved criteria

About the Programme
If you want to get your foot in the door of your local pharmacy, our Level 4 New Zealand Certificate in Pharmacy (Pharmacy Technician - Core) can lead you to providing pharmacy products and services to your community.

Pharmacy Technicians are fully equipped with the theoretical and practical knowledge required to safely dispense medications and other therapeutic products, provide guidance on the use of dispensed medicines and effectively manage dispensary stock and inventory.

Our programme provides you with the vital skillset, confidence, legal and ethical pharmacy standards, critical thinking and practical knowledge to apply yourself in the New Zealand pharmacy sector under the supervision of a pharmacist. Graduates will be ready to provide a patient-centred pharmaceutical approach to all patients and their whānau.

You won’t just gain your knowledge through classes but will also be able to apply yourself in a pharmacy work placement before graduation, ensuring you enter the workforce, or pursue higher education, as a confident and enthusiastic pharmacy technician with practical experience.

Pathways
With skills that can be attributed to a range of pharmacy settings, students can pursue a career in either a community pharmacy or a hospital setting throughout Aotearoa.

Upon graduation from the NZ Certificate in Pharmacy (Pharmacy Technician - Core) (Level 4), you will be able to gain direct entry into NZ Certificate in Pharmacy (Pharmacy Technician - Advanced) (Level 5).
