Can’t get into uni? NZSE can help
If you do not have the required literacy and numeracy credits to qualify for tertiary study at university, polytechnic or other institutes, there’s absolutely no need to worry. New Zealand School of Education (NZSE) offers university preparation programmes for those who are not confident or do not have the credentials to enrol in bachelor’s degrees in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) subjects.
STEM graduates not only enjoy an advantage in today’s economy but STEM-related occupations are some of the highest paid. Unfortunately, more and more students are steering away from these subjects which are actually shaping our future. New Zealand needs more students in these fields.
According to Alison Talbot Head of School “The high-tech era fuels jobs in these subjects, so it is crucial that our youth are involved in these subjects and are given the opportunities needed to excel in them.”
NZSE offers the Certificate in Foundation Studies - Level 3 and Certificate in Academic Skills - Level 4, both of 17 weeks duration that will impart you with academic knowledge and an entry qualification to enable you to be admitted to a New Zealand university.
The Level 3 course focuses on introducing students to the requirements of academic study at the tertiary level. It aims to produce graduates who are capable of undertaking academic studies in the field of your choice.
The Level 4 course aims to build students’ fluency, independence and range in language, literacy and numeracy.
Indeed, dipping your toes into both sides of the academic pool is optimal in today’s labour market where employers are searching for candidates who have a bit of everything under their belt.
Compact class sizes, supportive tutors and a relaxed campus environment allow you to study at your own pace. What’s more, you will also have the option to choose any of the many career pathways at NZSE.
