International Food Festival

What a fantastic day our Diploma in Business - Level 7 students had at the International Food Festival.  This Festival was part of a practical assessment from the paper, Success Strategies for International Marketing.  Students researched a popular dish from an international country, other than their own, and designed a marketing strategy around it.

The Challenge

Choose a home country: eight students groups

  • European- French

  • Asian- Thai

  • Middle Eastern- Lebanese, Qatar

  • Mexican

  • Russian

  • Caribbean

  • Australian

  • Spanish

The Outcome:

Delight your customers through your target and marketing mix strategies. Standardisation or Adaptation

Caribbean: great ambience, props, costumes and total island feel.

Lebanese: well organised, brought the sweet baklava to the table

Qatar: lovely tasty wraps with ease of EFTPOS payment

The Aussie Chefs: fresh burgers made to order

The pasta and pizza guys: total hunger busters

Mexican: delightful tacos to please the vegetarians

Spicy Thais: great balance of spice and sweet

We had a great time tasting the variety of foods and enjoying the marketing efforts of the individual stalls.  The event was a great success and we look forward to more practical-based assessment events.

Yours Truly,
