Eleele, a ECE Teacher at Our Kids Glen Eden, was a recent graduate of our Early Childhood Education course.
“I was motivated to become an ECE Teacher as I love children a lot and enjoy working with kids, teaching and looking after them.”
Eleele learned a lot of practical and theoretical skills about ECE during her studies as she explains,
“Not only the practical aspect of Early Childhood Teaching, but also the theory and paperwork side of it. The staff were very helpful and very friendly while I was studying.”
She was able to find a job that she was passionate about thanks to the additional support from her tutors and she elaborates,
“the tutors are really helpful and patient, especially if you don’t understand things such as the course outlines, the tutors explain it to you and help you and if you get stuck, you’ve got a whole team to support you.”
Her advice to anyone thinking of studying or working in early childhood education is
“Always be patient and time management is key. Ask questions when you are not sure and learn as much as you can. This career can be different every day as you deal with all sorts of children and families and being able to think on your feet is a must.”
