Security officer training fundamentals starts here. The aim of this course is to introduce students to the security industry in New Zealand, the legal framework in which it operates, the technology and equipment used and organisational roles and responsibilities.
The aim of this course is to enable students to develop the strategies, skills and knowledge needed in the security industry to be able to practice personal safety, apply situational awareness and maintain health and safety. Students will gain tools in personal fitness and stress management whilst learning how to manage conflict situations.
The aim of this course is to provide the student with the skills and knowledge to respond to a range of common and emergency incidents as security personnel.
The aim of this course is to develop a student’s skills in a live workplace situation by applying the knowledge learnt about the industry. The student should identify and complete the preparations required for placement taking into consideration their own career plan. Students will complete 30 hours industry placement shadow-observing in an event and/or retail security environment.
